@PolyGeo No particular reason other than I think it's easier to distinguish the two if they have more different names. But there's also something to be said for having both come up when someone types in "relationship".

'German records' sounds to me like records from Germany, and I doubt many people would read the usage guidance to appreciate the distinction between records in German vs records from Germany. It seems a waste of 3 tags to tag germany, say birth-records, and german-records, when the first two really suffice. Of course, the same could be said of german-language however the name of the tag makes it more clear that it is referring to the language.

I'm finding it a little weird that website recommendation questions are being grouped under the software-recommendations tag. This seems very unintuitive to me - what's the reasoning for that? That's not to say we need a website-recommendations tag, I'm just not sure software-recommendations is the correct name for the tag if it's to include things other than software

Just because a question is also on topic on Software Recommendations does not mean they must be referred there, if they are also on topic here.

The link between English Language and G&FH is admittedly a little tenuous...but I'll make an ad we can try on that site anyway (unless anyone else would like to try??) As I see it, it can't hurt to have additional ads however tenuous the link is.
